HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Communities for Cause, Inc. (CFC) is excited to announce the launch of its Online GiveBack Scheduler – another restaurant industry first. The industry will leverage this new online technology to offer, schedule and manage GiveBack events with local nonprofits nationwide.

Communities for Cause helps restaurant industry offer, schedule and manage GiveBack events with local nonprofits.

CFC’s existing ENGAGE MOBILE platform features businesses willing to donate a percentage of sales to their customers’ nonprofits of choice via a mobile app whenever the customer shops or dines with the business. In return, nonprofits market the platform to their supporters and encourage their patronage at CFC businesses.

Restaurants are now able to automate another significant aspect of their operations, the scheduling of and accounting for community GiveBack fundraisers. As part of their partnership with CFC, restaurants will have access to the new online GiveBack Event Scheduler.

The Scheduler connects restaurants with all CFC nonprofits interested in scheduling GiveBack events. Restaurants simply designate which days of the week and times of the day they offer GiveBack events, set their percent donation and direct nonprofits interested in having an event to sign up with CFC. Nonprofits use the application to view GiveBack opportunities in their community and schedule their events.

Once the GiveBack event has been scheduled, the CFC ENGAGE MOBILE app handles the rest. No more need to collect flyers, train staff, key in a promo code or print a duplicate receipt. Patrons use the app to register their purchase and CFC accounts for the donation.

As Gary Allhusen, CFC co-founder and CEO, describes, “Our original vision for Communities for Cause was to connect local businesses with area nonprofits and their supporters through an easy-to-use mobile app. Over time, we discovered another niche opportunity but one that would have a significant impact on the industry. By enhancing our solution with a scheduling clearinghouse capability, we could help improve outcomes of the long established restaurant industry GiveBack event and provide a better ROI on the industry’s $3B in annual charitable giving.”

The CFC platform, initially launched in Orange County, CA, features over 1,200 local merchants and 50 online retailers offering up to a 25 percent donation to supporters of hundreds of nonprofits.
